    December 17, 2018 @ Edisto High School

    Activities will begin at 5:00 pm
    Tree lighting at 5:45pm

    Activities include:
    Essay Contest Winners Announced
    Performances and Caroling by the Band/Chorus
    Make your own Reindeer Food
    Hot Chocolate, S’mores, and Cookies for Purchase

    Donations for Lights can be made in Memory or Honor of someone special

    w The Next Gen Magnet Program was able to attend The South Carolina Water Resources Conference in Columbia, South Carolina this past Wednesday and Thursday.   This year the students are learning about drinking water contamination: causes, remedies, effects, and prevention thereof.  Students will take the knowledge they have gained from case studies, guest speakers, and the conference to examine local businesses and the plans they have in place to protect the Edisto River.

    Homecoming Cougars beat Hornets 46-6

    Hikeem "Hulk" Elmore carried the ball 19 times for 160 yards and 3 Edisto touchdowns.

    Jay Ryant added a 32-yard touchdown pass to Dawn Muller and a 27-yard touchdown pass to Elmore.

    The Cougars defense were led by Cadon Moore with 3 interceptions, Xavier Govan with 8 tackles, Keron Barr with 9 tackles, Jalen Green with a 55 yard pick 6. Rayquan Ryant with 6 tackles and an interception, and Shakel Williams with 4 tackles and a sack.

    Cougars beat Eagles!

    CORDOVA – Edisto (2-1 record) defeated Scott’s Branch by a score of 26-7 on Friday night.

    The Cougars marched 70 yards on their opening drive to score and take a 7-0 lead. Hikeem Elmore led the Cougars with 3 touchdowns on 19 carries for 165 yards, along with a blocked punt and 9 tackles, with 3 for losses.

    Cougars beat Trojans!

    Hakeem the dream over 100 yards TD, safety.  JayJay to RayRay TD.  Jay to DM TD.  Ray 75 yard interception for TD. X throws for 2 pts and defense all in for a 39-0 effort over HKT Friday night/

    NEESES -- The Edisto Cougars exploded for 30 unanswered points in the second quarter to take a 30-0 first-half lead over the Class 1A Hunter-Kinard-Tyler Trojans and never looked back in taking a season-opening non-region Week-Zero win in Neeses.

  • 11 This summer, Simeon L. Gordon, of Edisto High, joined other outstanding high school students from across the nation in attending a unique academic and career oriented development experience, Envision Game and Technology Academy at George Mason University located in Fairfax, Virginia.

    At our School Board Meeting 20 June 2018, Mr. Brad Coleman was approved as the new Principal of Edisto High School.

    Mr. Coleman comes to OCSD 4 with over twenty years in the education profession and by way of Lexington County School District Two. Please welcome Mr. Coleman to the Cougar family.

    Edisto High School Air Force Junior ROTC unit SC-20021 had their annual awards ceremony Thursday night, May 10th, 2018 at the school.  Over 600 ribbons and medals were presented, including 20 from local area fraternal and service organizations.

    Cadet Joshua Self earned the trophy for the top academic average in AFJROTC. Cadet Dakota Nettles was recognized for outstanding dress and appearance. The top drill and ceremony cadet was Cadet Brandon Antley.  The outstanding Flight Commander was Cadet Sintereius Davis. The outstanding cadets overall by year group were Cadets Austin Ehrhardt, Sintereius Davis, Tariq Brooks, and Cameron Coker.  Cadets from Charlie and Foxtrot flights took honors as the best flights each semester.

    It was also announced last week that Edisto High AFJROTC earned the national distinguished unit award for 2018.  This award is reserved for the best of all JROTC units nationwide. This is the 13th year Edisto High has earned this national award.

  • ge Congratulations, Golden Essence!

    On Saturday, March 31, 2018, Golden Essence competed in the South Carolina Band Director's Association (SCDBA) Winter Ensemble State Championships. Golden Essence competed in the Percussion Scholastic Novice division. They placed 3rd in the division for State Championships.

    Final count for May 10th drive was 32 pints.

    Our next blood drive will be the bedinning of fall semester.  If you want credit for a donation, you may go directly to blood assurance at the RMC and identify yourself with EHS for red cord credit.

    Students and faculty from the Next Gen Magnet School and Edisto High School plant one of the redbud trees provided to five area schools by the Orangeburg County Soil and Water District’s to commemorate Arbor Day.
