Dear Lockett Family:

On behalf of the faculty and staff, I welcome you to Lockett Elementary School. Whether you are returning or joining us as a new student, I hope you will find LES a great place to learn and make friends. With everyone working as a team, this year can be a very rewarding experience for all.

Please read through your child’s agenda to make yourself aware of the procedures, rules, and policies that will have an impact on your school year. Knowing the information in the agenda will give you the answers to most of the questions that may arise during the year. The agenda was developed as a guide and a referencing tool to help provide a safe environment and an "appropriately focused educational opportunity" for all our parents and students.

Parents, I encourage you to communicate with your child’s teacher concerning his or her progress throughout the school year. Building a strong relationship with your child’s teacher will help make your child’s school year a good one. Check the Parent Portal often to keep abreast of your child's academic progress. If you would like to get involved in your child's education, LES offers many opportunities for you to do so - mentoring, volunteering, chaperone a field trip, visit the school for lunch, PTSO, School Improvement Council, attend special programs, etc.

I expect everyone's best at LES! To accomplish this will require a total commitment from everyone – faculty, staff, parents and students. With the many opportunities available, I believe each student will have a truly successful year.

I look forward to seeing and hearing from you throughout the year. Let us work together to prepare our students for a successful 2019-2020 school year.

Have a great school year!
